FOV (Field of View) as Accessibility
Field of view, the angle of the visible game world on screen, is both a comfort and accessibility setting, directly affecting motion sickness, spatial awareness, and competitive visibility.
In games, this means
A narrow FOV (60°) feels cinematic but causes tunnel vision and motion sickness. A wide FOV (110°+) reduces nausea and increases situational awareness but may distort peripheral geometry. Competitive PC players typically prefer 90–110°. Exposing FOV as a player-adjustable setting is non-negotiable for any first-person or third-person 3D game.
