Call of Duty's Prestige mode resets player rank to level 1 in exchange for a badge. The UX design challenge is making this feel like a meaningful choice rather than a punishment. Prestige works when the exclusive reward is visible and respected by other players, the reset is clearly opt-in, and the replayed progression feels faster or different enough to justify the decision.
