Eye Tracking
Hardware-based measurement of where a player's gaze lands on screen, providing objective data about visual attention, reading order, and UI element visibility.
In games, this means
Eye tracking reveals that players never look at the minimap, that the health bar is only glanced at after taking damage (not before), and that a critical tutorial prompt placed in the top-left corner is entirely ignored because players fixate on the centre of the screen. Eye tracking is expensive but produces uniquely objective data about visual attention that no other method can replicate.
