Death Screen
The UI state presented to a player after their character dies, a critical UX moment that can either reframe failure as learning or cause frustration and abandonment.
In games, this means
Hades shows character dialogue on death screens, recontextualizing failure as story progress. Dark Souls shows 'YOU DIED' as a ritual that becomes motivating. A generic black screen with no information is a missed UX opportunity.
