Players' tendency to interpret ambiguous game feedback in ways that confirm their existing beliefs. Misleading feedback reinforces wrong mental models.

In games, this means

If a player is doing damage to an immune enemy and still hears hit sounds, they'll assume their attacks are working. This confirmation bias leads to frustration when they realize minutes later nothing was landing.
