Choice Paralysis (Overchoice)
A state of decision-making failure caused by too many options, more choices can produce worse outcomes and less player satisfaction than fewer, curated options.
In games, this means
A skill tree with 80 nodes on first open, a loadout screen with 300 weapon combinations, or a character roster of 150 at launch, all can cause paralysis. Players choose nothing, or randomly, then feel dissatisfied with the result. Progressive unlocking and curated starter options prevent this without reducing long-term depth.
