Music Loop Fatigue

The point at which a background music track loops so frequently, or so obviously, that the loop point itself becomes what the player notices, breaking immersion and creating low-level irritation.

In games, this means

A two-minute town theme in an RPG will loop dozens of times during extended play sessions. When the loop point is audible, a slight click, an abrupt restart, or a too-familiar opening bar, it pulls the player out of the world every single time. Dynamic and adaptive music systems, longer compositions, and seamless loop design exist largely to solve this. The cheapest fix: make loops long enough that most players never notice them.
