Health Bar

A UI element showing the player's remaining health as a visual bar, number, or alternative representation. One of the most fundamental pieces of game UX.

In games, this means

The health bar communicates urgency and consequence. Depleting slowly with clear color changes (green > yellow > red) gives players time to react. Enemy health bars add critical combat feedback. Both can be made diegetic to remove HUD clutter.
