False Affordance
A visual or interactive cue that suggests an action is possible when it isn't, or suggests the wrong action.
In games, this means
Players try to climb a ledge that looks climbable, open a door that's just decoration, or click an icon that looks like a button but does nothing. Each false cue costs trust and teaches players to stop exploring, which hurts onboarding and early retention.
